The prior "Full Name" field is where you use upper-case letters if desired, not the Account name field.
Note that the system will always, always default to setting the account-name in lower-case letters. Make an entirely new account and do yourself a favor and don't use any upper-case letters in the shortname.
Why in gahd's name did anyone set up his account that way ? That should be the short name ("account name") of the user account, which - according to proper best-practices for Unix systems for decades now, must be all lower-case. Something is seriously awry in how you set up that user's account.
